Son of longtime NASCAR team owner Travis Carter, Matt is a veteran of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR-sanctioned late models and UARA.

Matt’s most recent successes have come as part of the Hooters Pro Cup Series, where he finished a career-best 6th in championship points in 2004 with 9 top-5 finishes and 16 top-10s in 19 races. That year, Matt was named the Hooters Pro Cup Miller Lite Rookie of the Year. Matt finished 7th in points on the Hooters Pro Cup in 2005, and 8th in 2007. His 2007 season was highlighted by a win at the Iowa Speedway.

Matt joined Clement Racing in 2008, taking the wheel for the nine-time series points champion team. Already in the top of the field, Matt’s skills as a racer will bring even more excitement to the championship-caliber team and he hopes to add to one of the most impressive dynasties in all of motorsports.
