Stine Seed Company welcomes Iowa pork producers as ARCA/ReMax race car co-sponsors

ADEL, IOWA — April 15, 2008

An alliance of Iowa pork producers have joined Stine Seed Company in sponsoring the #46 Clement Racing Ford Fusion in the ARCA/ReMax race series for 2008. The car is owned by Larry Clement of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and is driven by Matt Carter.

Pork producers have been a major sponsor of the car in the past, a sponsorship that was not renewed this year. However, a group of Iowa pork producers decided to continue the relationship with Larry Clement Racing and become a co-sponsor of the car.

Producer group spokesperson, Heather Hora, a pork producer from Washington County, says the race track is the right place for pork.

"There are thousands of race fans across the U.S. who either attend ARCA races or watch them on the Speed Network and we didn't want to lose that exposure," she says.

"When the national organization decided not to continue its sponsorship, we decided that, as pork producers, it was something that we felt strong enough to take on ourselves," she adds. "In fact, we have interest from other Iowa producers and some from other states, as well, who also want to be a part of the ARCA series."

"We were very pleased to learn that the pork producers would still be part of the racing team," says David Thompson, Director of Marketing for Stine. "Their energy and commitment to the team truly helps build the excitement of the race."

More than just a race sponsor, Hora says the pork producers appreciate all the things that car owner, Larry Clement, Fort Dodge, has done for them over the years.

"Larry is a great friend of pork producers, there's no doubt about that," she says. "He's supported us and helped us out in many situations over the years. We're glad to be able to stay with his team and we're very happy that Stine Seed has come on board as a primary sponsor."

Perhaps no other team in all of motorsports has been as successful as Clement Racing has in the ARCA series. The team has won the ARCA Points championship nine out the last 10 seasons, including a run of eight straight. Still, team owner Larry Clement says there is a lot to be excited about this season, with a new driver, new crew chief, and a new sponsorship lineup.

"Clement Racing is very proud to help Iowa pork producers and Stine Seed promote their products," says Clement.

While he may be new to the ARCA series, driver Matt Carter is no stranger to racing. He is a veteran of the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR sanctioned late models and UARA. Matt's crew chief is his father Travis Carter, a renowned NASCAR crew chief and team owner.

Sunday, April 13, in Salem, Ind., Carter came from 13th place to finish 3rd and an equally impressive performance is expected at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, on Saturday, April 19.
