Stine Racing Blog Stine Goes Racing, IRL-Style
July 9, 2008
Posted by: David Thompson, Director of Marketing, Stine Seed Company

Stine Racing BlogIn Stine Racing news, Stine hosted several hundred growers and dealers for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 held June 22 at the Iowa Speedway near Newton.  The weather was beautiful, and the racing was fast and furious, as Dan Wheldon and Target Chip Ganassi racing found victory lane in Iowa!

Over at the Stine hospitality tent, which was located just off of turn 1, Tama and Washington county Pork Producers were on hand to grill up some pork burgers for our guests.  Also appearing at the Stine tent driver Matt Carter, who graciously agreed to spend one of his few free weekends to come to Iowa, signing autographs and taking pictures with our guests.

The night before the event we had a chance to have dinner with Matt and his girlfriend, Amelia, at which time Matt told us in his typically humble way, "I just don't understand why people would want to meet me?"  Well, the next day our guests proved him wrong, as they stood in line to get his autograph and to have their picture taken with him.  Looking back through the 800-some pictures we took that day, everyone looks truly happy and excited, perhaps none as much as the little kids.  Through it all, the one posted above has to be one of my favorites.

It has been a very busy month with seed plantings, and replantings, and even more replantings, so blog postings have been a little sparse lately.

Stine Racing Driver Matt Carter was featured on arcaracing.com yesterday as part of the site's "Mid-Season Report Cards" series.  The series profiles the top 15 drivers in the series at the midpoint of the season.

Stine Racing driver, Matt Carter is the subject of a feature story on the official NASCAR Web site, www.nascar.com, by senior writer Raygan Swan, as part of their "future stars" series. Click here to check out the story. It certainly is cool to get to work with such a great, young driver. I think we'll be seeing a lot of Matt for many years to come!

The Clement Racing team is looking forward to a great race at Pocono this weekend (Saturday, June 7th, 1:00 p.m. ET, and will be televised on the SPEED channel at 10:00 p.m. ET)! After our team's big win at Toledo a couple of weeks ago, we're excited to get back on the track.

Be sure to check back after the Pocono race to get an update on our team's performance!

Stine Racing Blog Getting Ready For Toledo

The team is in Toledo tonight for Sunday's Hantz Group 200.  Larry says that Toledo runs like a cross between Newton and Salem.  I'm hoping that's true, since we posted really good runs at both of those tracks this year.

BTW, the race's major sponsor is our friends and co-sponsors on the #46 car, the Hantz Group.  For more information, visit their site at www.hantzgroup.com.

Stine Racing BlogA big welcome to Jacob Christian Humpal, who recenly joined the Clement Racing Team.

Born on Friday, May 9, Jacob is the newborn son of Christy and Jeremy Humpal of Indianapolis, and is the grandson of team owner Larry Clement. He had the numbers right, weighing in at 6 pounds 4 oz (the teams numbers 46)!

Stine Seed Company would like to congratulate Larry, and the whole Clement family, on the new addition.
